Hooded Oriole - Icterus cucullatus

Photo: tony battiste; 2011 Mar 27; USA, Arizona; Elephant Head Pond, Green Valley; Adult; Male; Breeding;
Song: Song is a rapid series of short choppy slurred whistles and call notes. More abrupt and lacks sweetly whistled characteristics of most oriole songs. Call notes include a sharp nasal "weet" or "eek" similar to House Finch's flight call, dry throaty "chut" chattering, and a hard dry "tchek".
Sound: Kevin J. Colver; Jun; UT; Adult; Male; Primary Sound;
