Short-eared Owl - Asio flammeus

Song: The common call is a "Voo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo" call given by male from perch or frequently in spiralling aerial display to perched female, and often accompanied by wing-claps like the sharp clapping of hands. Also a variety of sharp barks like the tentative barks of a puppy, usually directed toward human intruders.
